While you should always ‘vote your conscience,’ if you’re invited to dinner, you don’t eat the food, drink the wine, and then piss on the carpet. It was tacky.”

HELL’S A-BURNIN’ (DrudgeReport.com headline 07/21/2016)

How did Sen. Ted Cruz repay the solicitude of Donald Trump who offered him a prime time speaking venue at the RNC last night…? That’s right he stabbed Trump not in the back, but in the front (rhetorically speaking), by demanding that the tens of thousands of Republicans in the Cleveland, Ohio Quicken Loans Arena audience, in addition to the tens of millions Republican voters watching on TV to ‘vote your conscience’— code words for “Don’t vote for Trump in 2016, but vote for me [Ted Cruz] in 2020.”

The self-righteous hypocrisy of Cruz was on full display last night as he admonished voters: “Please: don’t stay home in November.” But over a growing chorus of boos from an increasingly restless and aggravated audience then interjected three words of political suicide: “If you love our country, and love your children as much as I know that you do, vote your conscience.”

I appreciate the enthusiasm of the New York delegation,” he said, as he was incessantly booed. Once again Cruz was worthy of the name ‘lyin’ Ted’ because even in that statement it wasn’t only the New York delegation who was booing him, it was virtually the entire audience, including his home state Texas delegation who booed him so vociferously that his wife, Heidi Cruz, who was standing among them, had to be escorted off the floor by two FBI agents for her own safety.

The boos and interruptions lasted for the remainder of Cruz’s Benedict Arnold diatribe with his own home state of Texas leading the boos and chants of “We want Trump!” His call to unity: “The case we have to make to the American people … is to commit to each of them that we will defend freedom and be faithful to the Constitution,” fell on deaf ears, as Cruz was effectively booed off the biggest stage in American political history.

“…[H]e rose through pride and he fell in despair.”

It was a politically astute and morally magnanimous move by Trump who gave Cruz the stage for truly Trump is a master observer of human nature. The stage was set. All of the participants were in place. Trump, the master TV producer extraordinaire knew that on cue Cruz would be the selfish, petulant, self-righteous little man that he was since Cruz turned on him after the second half of the campaign beginning about Jan. 2016. Trump also knew from his understanding of human nature that Judas Cruz couldn’t resist such a big stage before millions of people worldwide. Trump’s mastery of human nature knew that Cruz would abuse his solicitude and return it with self-righteous venom.

Another great move by Trump was to schedule Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich to come onstage after Cruz following his self-inflicted political suicide, Gingrich, auditioning for his future role in the Trump campaign as ‘Mr. Fix’, asked the crowd to consider intrinsic meaning of Cruz’s words.

Ted Cruz said you can vote your conscience for anyone that will uphold the Constitution. In this election, there is only one candidate who will uphold the Constitution.” He further stated, “If you want to protect the constitution of the United States, the only possible candidate this fall is the Trump-Pence Republican ticket.” Mike Huckabee, a former GOP presidential opponent of Trump, now Trump supporter summarized the duplicity of Cruz in this manner, “Trump trusted Ted and was rewarded with betrayal.

Like one of the world’s greatest traitors who betrayed Christ for the Judas price of 30 pieces of silver, only to later commit suicide by hanging himself, as the bloodmoney of Judas fell into the dust of the ground beneath his cold, dead feet, last night Cruz indeed committed political suicide of such a historical magnitude that even his own familiar paymaster, billionaire Sheldon Adelson, refused Cruz’s admittance to his suite at the Quicken Loans Arena after Cruz made a bee-line path to his door with hand out thinking that Adelson would put a campaign contribution in it in reward for his treachery to U.S.

For almost 2 years Cruz was been utterly wrong about Trump. Cruz could have been a critical and important part of President Trump’s future, historic administration, but now the name of Ted Cruz will become a byword for political suicide on the world’s largest stage possible.

The only fitting words I can conclude with to describe the fitting political damnation of Senator Ted Cruz comes from the great Catholic Theologian Father Reginald Garrigou Lagrange, who wrote in his classic opus, The Three Ages of the Interior Life, these wise words for the Ages:

Should we commit a very evident sin, which we cannot conceal, we fall into confusion, vexation, discouragement; and the devil, who veiled the danger from us before the sin, now exaggerates the difficulties of turning back to God and seeks to lead us to spiritual desolation. He fashions souls to his own image; he rose through pride and he fell in despair.

Political Suicide: Like the biblical Judas of antiquity who betrayed Christ, the rise and fall of Senator Ted Cruz, who betrayed his promise ‘to support the GOP nominee’ which is Trump, betrayed the Republican Party and America, and demonstrated to the world his self-afflicted political suicide of historical proportions, motivated by the three deadly sins— pride, envy and self-righteousness.
