Letter to an intellectual athlete
By Ellis Washington
Robert Haywood, ‘my twin brother from another mother’ and Princeton Alumni
| About the Author—Professor Ellis Washington, J.D.—I went to Harvard Law School with future POTUS Barack Hussein Obama for 1 year (1988-89), but I took the opposite path in Life—New World Order, Communism, Treason, Pedophilia & Satanic Ritual Abuse vs. Christianity, Conservatism, Protecting the Children & TRUMPism. I repeatedly refused to take the “Satan OATH” which is why I’ve been blacklisted for 30+ years—for my entire legal and academic career, yet I Fight on! Why?—For Harvard’s original 1692 motto—Veritas pro Christo et Ecclesia {= Truth for Christ and the Church}.

You never know the impact people have on your life sometimes until many years later after you have suffered much toil and trouble and realize that person’s presence in your life was a milestone marker I believe God periodically sets in our lives as a measure both of where you are, but more importantly to serve as a measure of where you need to be to fulfill your eternal Destiny.
My childhood friend Robert Haywood was that type of friend; he was one of my milestone. I met Rob in eight grade band. I played the flute, he the alto sax. Shortly after I met him I realized beyond his uncanny sense of humor, particularly his aptitude to mimic people on a deep and profound psychological level (more of this later), was Haywood’s brilliant intellect as well as being an outstanding athlete (he barely missed the cut to play for the NFL). Haywood was a straight-A student who a year later was accepted into Detroit’s legendary magnet school, Cass Technical High. Although I didn’t get accepted there my freshman year (because my math grades needed improving), based in part on Haywood’s intellectual model, I vowed in my heart that I would matriculate to Cass Tech, and that following year I did where I reconnected with Haywood and he and I played in the band together like old times.
One unusual thing Haywood and I have in common is that he is the only person I’ve ever known personally that was born on my birthday, on my same year, therefore for years we called each other “Twins” or “My brother from another mother” and would write to each other on our birthdays wishing each other Happy Birthday and catching up on old times. Haywood did so to me this year on September 22nd and below is my reply. I didn’t intend on getting emotional, but once I started writing all of these wonderful memories of my 40-year relationship with my twin came bubbling up in my mind like a great wellspring. Below is the short letter I sent him—
Hello Haywood: Nice to hear from you my Friend and Happy Birthday to you also. That was kind of you to think of me.
By the way we’re relocating to Atlanta, Georgia where I went to law school. My family is already there (Stone’s a sophomore @ Clemson). If you are ever in the area I would love for you and your family to visit with us.
I’m doing a lot of writing and publishing as of late, below is my latest opus. Hope you can buy my latest book. Feel free to spread to the Word and spread Enlightenment.
Peace, Ellis
P.S.: Thanks for telling me about Ivy-League schools back in the day. I still remember our conversations about that funny yearbook picture with you, your football coach and I believe the quarterback(?) who later went to Cornell University. (You stood on your tip toes to tower over your colleague who had a rather bizarre, hunchback expression on his face.
Old Cass Tech (1907-2009) where Haywood New Cass Tech (since 2010)
and I attended – graduating in 1979
It was during these conversations about where you and your friends were going to college where I first learned about “Ivy-League” schools. Our discussions about you going to Princeton and later University of Chicago, educated me about Ivy-League schools like these which (prior to meeting you), I had no idea about. More importantly, I didn’t understand the level of intellectual skill it took to get into those elite schools, but for having you as my intellectual role model. Since those discussion during our junior and senior year in high school (1978-79), I had an epiphany experience which lead me to change my rather unremarkable and pedestrian approach to higher education.
Meeting you Haywood changed my entire approach to education and set me on the path to pursue a more systematic, rigorous scholarly approach and philosophical worldview I’ve adopted since then which has been in part due to your intellectual model which is manifested in the book notice below.
Thanks for your inspiration to me My Friend!

Editorial Reviews
William Wagner, Law Professor; President/CEO – Salt and Light Global, LLC
…A shining, yet alarming book at the dark side of American culture. A must read for anyone who cares about the future of the American nation.
Ann Fishman, President/CEO, Liberty Legal Foundation International
Washington traverses the present to the past and back with swan-like elegance and effortlessness to trace the paths that have converged to bring us to the crossroad where we stand today. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to connect the dots between history, politics and morality. Ellis Washington is the Thomas Sowell of his generation.
Robert D’Agostino, Law Professor and fmr. Dean & President – John Marshall Law School — There is an old saying which in its present iteration states ‘pioneers get slaughtered while settlers prosper. Ellis Washington is a pioneer. His insights, observations, and even future projections, despite their accuracy, are almost always ahead of the curve. What he writes today, others will write tomorrow. He just writes before others are ready to listen and the others get the gravy.
Dr. Walter Williams, former Chair, Dept. of Economics; professor, George Mason University; author, Race and Economics — The Progressive Revolution present us hard-hitting, fearless analysis of the deteriorating state of affairs in our country, plus it’s fun and enlightening reading.
Atty. John W. Whitehead, founder/president of The Rutherford Institute; author, The Freedom Wars — Washington is an erudite scholar. Agree or disagree, this book is worth reading.
Dr. Sam Vaknin, editor-in-chief, Global Politician; author, Malignant Self-Love — Whether you agree with his views or not, the author’s unflinching political incorrectness and incisive erudition is what is needed to resuscitate academic and socio-political debate in the USA and the West. The epithet ‘page-turner’ is usually reserved to thrillers, but this cornucopial tome deserves it richly.
Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer, WND.com and WND Books — Washington is a gifted writer, analyst, legal scholar and historian. We’re privileged to publish his work in WND.
Epilogue to an Intellectual Athlete
Haywood taught me so many things about education, life and the pursuit of excellence in everything you do including to always have humor in your heart and laughter on your lips so that the gall of bitterness doesn’t corrupt your morality or pervert your intellectual integrity. Haywood taught me about the elitist of elite schools in America—the Ivy-League. Haywood’s football colleague, that quarterback I mentioned earlier went to Cornell, Haywood graduated from Princeton (and got his MBA from the ‘public Ivy-League’ school, the University of Chicago) and due to his intellectual modelling I went to Harvard (ironically during the same time that future U.S. President Barack Obama went to law school there).
One time I visited Haywood at his mother’s home in Detroit and he proudly showed me his bound thesis that every undergraduate of Princeton had to write, have bound and published as a book. When I saw it I almost fainted. I had no idea that the Ivy-League school demanded this level of intellectual rigor form their students. I grabbed that thesis from Haywood and read it with the urgency of a man who needed to read about swimming while he was drowning (in ignorance, metaphorically speaking).
I remember that his thesis was in economics and had a lot of technical economic graphs, tables and analysis, that I didn’t understand regarding efficiency methods and economic theory in beer manufacturing and marketing (particularly on the production of hops, which I understand is a critical ingredient for making good beer). I can still remember rubbing my hands over the thick black leather cover of is Princeton thesis, smelling the leather, and saying in my heart— “Ellis, you got a long way to go to become half as intelligent as Haywood… Let’s get to work!”
I haven’t stopped to look back since that day.
Thank you Haywood for teaching me that physical strength and intellectual strength aren’t mutually exclusive. Without your unwitting tutelage and intellectual modelling to me I would have been an unremarkable mediocrity at best; probably a frustrated, anonymous high school band teacher in the Detroit Public Schools. I would not not who I aspire to be now – a historian, a constitutional law scholar, a writer of 10 academic books and over 2 dozen law review articles published on 4 or 5 continents and over 2,500 essays, articles, monographs, and Socratic dialogues.
The legendary physicist, Albert Einstein, said it best regarding reaching your Destiny by following your Passion and not being slaves to what others think of you, or what you should do in Life.
Exceedingly gratitude to you Robert Haywood for teaching me to fulfil my Destiny, to become an intellectual by being one yourself… Thank You!
