Dear Dr. Claudia Koonz:
Recently in several essays I have cited your opinions conflating the Nazi concept or Nazification of German society, also known as “Gleichshaltung” (e.g., ‘synchronization’, ‘coordination’, or what I prefer to translate— ‘forcing into line’) with the Republican Party, Conservative politics, and especially with policies of President Donald J. Trump and his pro-patriot ‘Make America Great Again’ [MAGA] movement. This essay will go into greater detail to expose your anti-academic tactics and personal animus against President Trump.
I first learned of your writings on this topic through some Slideshare slides that mentioned your name and other scholars (Dean Stroud, Tobias Schepenak) writing on the Nazification strategy and tactics of Gleichshaltung, a Nazi concept I have written books and scholarly articles on for decades. The other two scholars used the term in the context of 1930s German society without transmogrify-ing the term using it as a shameless pretext to make outrageous attacks and to gaslight one’s political enemies like you apparently like to do. Thus, I have chosen to write this Open Letter to you, Professor Koonz (and by extension to the other ‘historians’ cited in The Guardian article of Sept. 2025) to expose your pseudo intellectualism and lack of academic honesty and cognitive rigor.

Why didn’t the so-called Nazi Historian Professor Koonz Mention the Nazi Lebensborn Policies of the 1930s and 40s?
Because the Nazi Lebensborn program that merged Darwinian doctrines “Survival of the Fittest” and “Natural Selection”, racialist and racist Eugenics policy with Nazi policies on the family demonstrates to all but the most delusional or sycophantic that the Nazi Nationalist Socialist Party from its beginnings was clearly a party of the political Left not the Right.
In fact Marxism and Nazism (Fascism) are two sides of the same coin. Both Marxism and Nazism are derivative of a fascist, totalizing, State-controlled, anti-Christian Weltanschauung (Worldview). Lebensborn e.V. (/ˈleɪbənzˌbɔːrn/, German pronunciation: [ˈleːbənsˌbɔʁn], lit. ‘Fount of Life’) was a secret, SS-initiated, state-registered association in Nazi Germany with the stated goal of increasing the number of children born who met the Nazi standards of “racially pure” and “healthy” Aryans, based on Nazi eugenics (also called “racial hygiene” by some eugenicists). Lebensborn was established by Heinrich Himmler, and provided welfare to its mostly unmarried mothers, encouraged anonymous births by unmarried women at their maternity homes, and mediated adoption of children by likewise “racially pure” and “healthy” parents, particularly SS members and their families. The Cross of Honour of the German Mother was given to the women who bore the most Aryan children. Set up in Germany in 1935, Lebensborn expanded into several occupied European countries with Germanic populations during World War II. It included the selection of “racially worthy” orphans for adoption and care for children born from Aryan women who had been in relationships with SS members. It originally excluded children born from unions between common soldiers and foreign women, because there was no proof of “racial purity” on both sides. During the war, many children were kidnapped from their parents and judged by Aryan criteria for their suitability to be raised in Lebensborn homes and fostered by German families. At the Nuremberg trials, much direct evidence was found of the kidnapping of children by Nazi Germany during the period 1939–1945. |
The Guardian article of 2025 also cited Professor Koonz’s vehement dislike of President Trump’s policy to encourage American women to have more children. This triggered Koonz and her band of Leftist historians to no end making them compare this Trump policy with the infamous Nazi Lebensborn policies of the 1930s (although none of these so-called “historians” cited this obvious Nazi eugenics program they were accusing President Trump of touting = accusation by omission). This is where the Nazis became so fanatical and obsessed with increasing the Nazi populations throughout greater Germany before and during World War II (1939-45) that they literally raped young German girls en masse who attended “summer camp” thus having illegitimate pregnancies reaching levels above 95%-100% of girls ages 13-17.—

In conclusion, what good does it benefit society if since about the 1860s the Academy has been systematically taken over by the political Left primarily through Darwinian Evolutionary Theory and Cultural Marxism? Thus instead of a proper ‘Liberal Arts Education’ for the past 170 years students have been indoctrinated with leftist propaganda like Darwinian Evolution (Eugenics), Cultural Marxism, Liberalism, Progressivism, Communism, Socialism, Positive Law, Pragmatism, (or as Stanley Fish’s 1990 Review Essay criticized Judge Richard Posner and by extension UChicago Professor of Philosophy Richard Rorty’s worldview as “Almost Pragmatism”), LGBTQ+ and now Wokism. Even America’s first college, Harvard College (founded: 1636) had a motto established in 1692 = Veritas pro Christo et Ecclesiae = Truth for Christ and the Church. In the 1870s it was shortened to “Veritas” – Truth.
Question: How can you have Truth in the Academy (or in society for that matter) without Christ and the Church? You can’t. How can you have Truth where 87-100% of the tenured faculty of the Ivy League and Public Ivy Leagues schools like Professor Claudia Koonz’s Duke University are registered Democrats? You can’t! Which is why in my last published book cited to the right I proposed that the Academy faculty reflect the voting population of the country. Thus 80% voted for Trump in 2024 thus 80% of the faculty of all American colleges should be Trump voters or Republicans to reflect the will of We the People!
