When it comes to Iran and ISIS the enemy of your enemy – is your enemy!

~ Netanyahu

Prologue to a Statesman

Like many Americans who love the Nation of Israel, I sat with eager anticipation watching the truly historic speech by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before both Houses of Congress last week. On Tuesday, March 4th the day after his speech I wrote the following comment on my Facebook page: “Wow, didn’t Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu hit a home run yesterday in his speech before both Houses of Congress? Since Reagan left office it is so rare to see a real Statesman speak so eloquently on such a grand stage and President Obama and the Socialist Left went absolutely crazy.”

Sir Edmund Burke (1729-97), an English statesman and Founding Father of conservative political philosophy famously said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Netanyahu is doing something. He is valiantly fighting against Obama’s duplicity and the ISIS/Iran fanaticism to save the life of the Nation of Israel. Since I made the ideological leap away from socialism to embrace conservatism on Christmas Day 1982, for over 33 years I have lived by Burkes’ aphorism and used all of my limited powers, education and resources to expose the historical demagoguery of the political Left in all of its shape shifting permutations – Gnosticism, the Federalists, Humanism, Jacobinism, Loyalists, Liberalism, Marxism, Communism, Socialism, Utilitarianism, Evolution Atheism (Darwinism), Relativism, Progressivism, Environmentalism, Globalism, etc… etc… Nevertheless history has repeatedly demonstrated that despite the flood of evil men in the world with evil intent, who are an existential curse upon society and civilization, there are always good men, good women, good institutions of every period of history who answers the call from Heaven; who rise up as a bulwark against the flood of evil men and diabolical ideas like those Israel must daily fight against surrounded by enemies. Just as Moses and the Jewish prophets of the Bible predicted thousands of years ago… Israel Alone!

Mozart vs. Salieri

As I listened to the soaring, majestic rhetoric of Netanyahu before the Republicans and the few Democrat Socialists who bothered to show up, like millions of Americans who also heard that magisterial speech we said to ourselves and to one another, ‘This is what a real Statesman sounds like’; ‘This man is like Reagan, like Churchill.’ ‘Netanyahu makes Obama looks like an irrelevant nothing.’ I then thought about a movie a saw back in the 1980s of a classical music composer who was connected to powerful political entities of his time, but yet his music was pedestrian, unremarkable and could not stand the test of time and is all but forgotten today (Antonio Salieri, 1750-1825), as opposed to the transcendent music of his contemporary, the uncouth, iconoclast genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-91), whose music for hundreds of years is still enjoyed more than ever and performed at the greatest symphony and opera halls throughout the world.

I then wrote the following comments on my Facebook page: “Here’s a movie except from one of my favorite movies, Amadeus (1984) where in 1781 a young Mozart meets the Emperor Joseph II to be interviewed as a possible composer of a new opera the Emperor will commission. Salieri (the Court composer) wrote a trivial little piece a “March of Welcome” he nevertheless worked hard to compose, which the Emperor played on the piano as Mozart entered the room. After hearing the march only once, Mozart plays it from memory, mockingly critiques it, and fluently improvises a series of variations on a theme before the Emperor Joseph II, the clergy and his entire Court, transforming Salieri’s “trifle” into the Non più andrai march from his 1786 opera The Marriage of Figaro. Here is that excerpt from the movie Amadeus.”

The only other foreign leader to have spoken to Congress three times was Winston Churchill, the British Prime Minister. In honor of that, Speaker of the House, John Boehner presents Netanyahu with a bust of Churchill. Netanyahu received wild applause when he said: “The world should demand that Iran do three things. First, stop its aggression against its neighbors in the Middle East. Second, stop supporting terrorism around the world. And third, stop threatening to annihilate my country, Israel, the one and only Jewish state.” If you are still unconvinced about Obama’s obsessive hatred of America and against her incomparable contributions to the history of Western Civilization, recall that one of the first acts Obama did as president of the United States was to return the bust of Churchill back to England. Thankfully the Republicans welcomed the bust of Churchill back to its rightful home in Oct. 2013.

In my opinion here are the historical connections – Mozart = Benjamin Netanyahu/Reagan/Churchill. Salieri = Obama/Carter/Neville Chamberlain (and every other petit, irrelevant bureaucrat from antiquity to modern times).

Netanyahu vs. Neville Chamberlain

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a passionate, rousing, intellectual, and “game changing” speech before the American Congress which during the 45 minutes he spoke was applauded 43 times, ovations which lasted longer than usual. One of the biggest ovations Israel’s Prime Minister received was when he revealed that Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel was in the audience – and when he said: “My friend, standing up to Iran is not easy. Standing up to dark and murderous regimes never is. Elie, your life and work inspires to give meaning to the words, ‘never again!’ And I wish I could promise you, Elie, that the lessons of history have been learned. I can only urge the leaders of the world not to repeat the mistakes of the past.”

Netanyahu commended America’s defense for Israel, including President Obama’s support, both in terms of military aid and the Iron Dome. He also alluded to U.S. aid to Israel that because of national security concerns could not be discussed. “Thank you America for everything you have done for Israel.” And then, Netanyahu transitioned to the upcoming Jewish holiday of Purim, which began the next evening, and which commemorates a time long ago when another Persian state under Artaxerxes and another anti-Semitic maniac named Haman wanted to murder all of the Jews in the world.

“Again, another Persian potentate wants to destroy us. Khamenei tweets in English that Israel must be destroyed.” Nonetheless Netanyahu understands that the danger is more than one charged only against the Jews. Iran threatens the entire Middle East, America, and the world as it annexes the Middle East – country by country. He reminded the audience that Iran’s fanatical religious rulers and their Revolutionary Guard cry “Death to America;” that “Iran and ISIS are competing for the crown of militant Islam;” that “both want to impose a militant Islamic empire.” “In this deadly game of thrones there is no place for America or Israel, no peace for Christians, Jews, or Muslims who don’t share the Islamist medieval creed, no rights for women, no freedom for anyone.”

The highlight of the speech is when Netanyahu declared, “When it comes to Iran and ISIS the enemy of your enemy – is your enemy!” He described the context of this aphorism in terms of the catastrophic deal that President Obama was working on with Iran that will only lead to Iran obtaining multiple nuclear weapons with warheads capable of delivering a genocidal Holocaust to both “little Satan” (Israel) and against “big Satan” (America). This “bad deal” by Obama which he would unconstitutionally enact absent Congressional ratification of this treaty, will guarantee that Iran develops nuclear weapons, according to Netanyahu.

Netanyahu’s historic speech before Congress was reminiscent of those legendary speeches delivered by Winston Churchill during World War II. People forget but historically Churchill (a great historian) was the lone voice in the world crying out in the wilderness against Hitler and the Nazi where all of the petit socialist apparatchiks in Europe like English Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain mocked and ridiculed Churchill as a right-winged warmonger and paranoid, only to beg him to become the leader in England when Neville Chamberlain was forced to resign on May 10, 1940. This historical change in leadership was just 8 months after Germany’s Nazi blitzkrieg (lighting war) roared into neighboring Poland thus violating the Munich Pact Chamberlain signed with Hitler and unleashing World War II.

Epilogue to a Socialist Savant

In my judgment, PM Netanyahu won the day and President Obama’s nonexistence and antagonistic attempts to polarize and demonize Netanyahu’s upcoming speech as “partisan” even sending hundreds of his own campaign workers to Israel to undermine Netanyahu’s re-election efforts, were all unsuccessful. History will make a distinction between Netanyahu’s diplomacy and reverent tone toward Obama with Obama’s spiteful, antagonistic, and petty viciousness towards Netanyahu. Indeed, Netanyahu, not Obama, is the world-class statesman while Obama is a Socialist Savant. We conservatives here in America salute you Bibi as our brother from another mother and despite the duplicity of the Democrat Socialist Party, pledge our fidelity to help defend Israel against the fanatical Ayatollahs in Iran or against any enemy in the Middle East or Muslim terrorist group like ISIS, Hamas and Hezbollah and the treacherous bureaucratic apparatchiks housed in the United Nations. John Bolton, a former ambassador to the United Nations calls Obama’s treacherous deal to give Iran nuclear weapons, “an act of surrender.”

While the duplicitous Neville Chamberlain only embolden Hitler’s anti-Semitic fanaticism and Nazi world war domination by bowing to Hitler’s demands for lebensraum (living space) which Germany achieved with the bloodless coup and annexation of Austria (March 12, 1938) and Czechoslovakia (March 15, 1939). Chamberlain’s cowardice thus gave Hitler the critical extra year he would need to fully build history’s largest and most powerful military right under the nose of Chamberlain and all of the other useless, Socialist apparatchiks in Europe. Yet like today, Chamberlain then still believed in Hitler more than he did in Churchill’s warnings against Hitler when he arrived back at the airport in England with treaty in hand he had just signed with Hitler where Chamberlain would foolishly proclaim on Oct. 1, 1938 – “We have peace in our time.” on Sept. 1, 1939, exactly 11 months later, Hitler would renege on that treaty as the Nazis unleashed their hellish blitzkrieg against Poland who would fall in just 3 weeks. Before the end of the war in 1945 one of several of the most infamous death camps would be placed in Poland by the Nazis (Auschwitz-Birkenau) where 3 million Polish Jews and 3 million Polish Christians would be murdered by Hitler and the Nazis.

Contrast Chamberlain’s historical catastrophe with this recent event of Netanyahu before Congress where in a powerful closing argument the great Prime Minister of Israel pointed high up to the back wall to a marble relief of Moses that hangs in the House chamber, and invoked the prophet’s parting words to his people in Deuteronomy 31:6 – Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. That art was installed in the House chamber in 1950, just two years after Israel was resurrected as a new nation before the world on May 12, 1948.

History has always been an existential dualism – an eternal choice between God vs. Lucifer, good vs. evil, light vs. darkness, freedom vs. slavery, Christianity vs. evolution atheism, Churchill vs. Neville Chamberlain, Reagan vs. Carter, Israel vs. Iran/ISIS, the U.S. Constitution vs. Obama. Therefore, the question of ultimate concern is this – Which side will you be on?
