MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who to his credit, from Day One saw the seriousness and potential success of the Trump campaign for president back in June 2015 when he publically announced. Recently Scarborough compared Donald Trump to Ronald Reagan and argued that “elites” never saw the rise of Trump because “they don’t live where most of America lives.” Joe Scarborough, a former 3-term Congressman from Florida, (and Democrat co-host, Mika Brzezinski) were always very prescient about a Trump presidential campaign and didn’t do like most of their colleagues (on the Left and the Right) by allowing their subjective bias and self-righteousness to cloud their and political analysis of Trump as a bona fide revolutionary political figure.

To All American Conservatives – We’ve all been played for fools. What has over 100 years of Conservatism profited America? From the advent of the “Imperial Presidency” of Theodore Roosevelt (1901-09), who 100 years before Barack Obama, ruled by executive decree (created the Conservation movement that confiscated hundreds of millions of acres of private land for the federal government, TR’s anti-Capitalism “Trustbusting” campaign and being the Founding Father of the Progressive ‘Bull Moose’ Party that divided the GOP vote in 1912 and gave the presidency to Progressive academic Woodrow Wilson.

Other Republican presidents after TR was his protégé William Taft (1909-13), Warren Harding (1921-23), Calvin Coolidge (1923-29), Herbert Hoover, (1929-33), Dwight Eisenhower (1953-61), Richard Nixon (1969-74), Gerald Ford (1974-77), Ronald Reagan (1981-89), George H.W. Bush-41 (1989-93), ending with the magnificent Progressive Republican catastrophe of President George W. Bush (2001-09) whose 2007 recession gave U.S. the Communist-Progressive Barack Obama (2009-present) on a silver platter to vex U.S. these eight years?

After over 100 years of toil and labor, how in the world could America, supposedly the greatest country in the history of the world, have so little to show for our work?

The list of Conservative cultural, political, and societal failures is extensive and comprehensive. Here are just a few – Separation of Church and State, State-sanctioned Socialism, Rise of Evolution Atheism, The Cultural Revolution of the 1960s, Same sex marriage, abortion statistics that eclipse the numbers of Hitler and the Nazis grotesqueries of the Holocaust, national and international slavery higher in 2016 than in 1860 at its height, ISIS on the rampage making the world’s lone “Superpower” quiver in a corner like a scared little girl. What about endemic and global child rape and Christian genocide practiced by Devout (not “Radical”) Islam as a holy sacrament, racism and discrimination on the rampage where Socialist-Progressives with PhDs telling Black people, Hispanic people, and other minorities that they should praise them for the Progressive leaps and bounds society has made toward an equal society since the 1960s civil rights era?

What do “minorities” have to be grateful for? the “gifts” of LBJ’s Great Society? – Warehousing Blacks and other minorities by the tens of millions in economically depressed neighborhoods, scrounging around like rats, existing in despair inside the crucible of bankrupt, crime ridden cities I call Concentration Camps, which are euphemistically called by Socialist-Progressive apparatchiks – “Projects” or “Ghettos” – Death camps where millions of young Black men in the prime of the lives, instead of being strong fathers raising families, enjoying life, making America strong, are instead to this day being warehoused in American Death Camps and Torture Centers called ‘prisons’, ‘jails’.

Law Professor Michelle Alexander calls these slave like conditions against Black men “The New Jim Crow” where millions of Black men, Hispanics and poor Whites languish in prison underPresident Bill Clinton’s “Three-Strikes” laws, packed together like rats, preying upon one another in warring gangs in numbers greater than what Hitler and the Nazis ever dreamed … while Conservatives, Christians, Libertarians, Moderates, Independents, Non-partisans, and others got the nerve to speak about the Glories of Conservatism?!

Again I ask this rhetorical question: What profit to U.S. for 100 Years of Conservatism?

Twilight Zone Episode—Passage on the Lady Anne (1963)

Characters

  • Ian Burgess: Cecil Kellaway
  • Lee Philips Alan Ransome
  • Joyce Van Patten: Eileen Ransome

Plot Summary: [Subtitle–The Dying Past] Six years into a distressed marriage, a young couple, Eileen and Alan Ransome, decide to go on a vacation for a 13-day crossing from New York to Southampton, England for a second honeymoon and their last, desperate efforts to revive their atrophy relationship. For expediency sake, they board an old ocean liner, the Lady Anne, since it is departing in the near future. However, the couple began to reconsider this ill-fated trip when they get to the port terminal where they are confronted by a passenger (McKenzie), who warns them of bad omens to come and to not get aboard. Another passenger (Burgess), goes even further to dissuade them, offering the couple $10,000 to leave immediately from riding this ship of the damned.

Another strange occurrence the couple soon discover is that all the other passengers are seniors, at least 75 years old, and their ship appears to not be on any discernible course, but seems to be set adrift at sea. Demonstrative of the cyclical nature of Life, we also learn that the couple rode that same ship as children.

Scene from the Twilight Zone episode: Passage on the Lady Anne

Events are going well for the young couple whose love for each other is being renewed by this trip when the Lady Anne’s engines suddenly stop, and the captain tells the Ransomes that they are being put off of the ship immediately. After a brief argument, at gunpoint the young couple are set adrift in the middle of the ocean as the Lady Anne sails into the midst, never to be seen again. When the Ransomes are rescued a few hours later, much to their dismay they discover no record that the Lady Anne ever existed.

Ian Burgess: The Last Conservative

Here is an excerpt from this episode I found particularly noteworthy regarding no matter how sacred, that all institutions and all traditions of men (represented by Lady Anne), are doomed to fail and to be casted upon the ash heap of History:

Passenger 1: (Ian Burgess) A toast to the Lady Anne, the finest and loveliest ship that ever sailed the sea!

Passenger 2: Ha, Ha! To the Lady Anne; It’s a pity what’s going to happen.

Burgess: It isn’t a pity, it’s a crime! A crime perpetrated by stupid men in bowties.

Passenger 2: Now, now, easy Burgess, it’s nothing to get overheated about.

Burgess: Nothing? Nothing? Are you so feebleminded that you can’t see the truth? Don’t you realize why they are going to scrap the Lady Anne?

Passenger 2: Outlived her usefulness I suppose.

Burgess: Ah, nonsense! She’s the finest ship afloat… You deny it?

Passenger 2: Certainly not.

Burgess: She may be a little slow perhaps. 13 or 14 days, she would be quite fast enough for anyone in their right mind. That’s just it, people aren’t in their right minds anymore. They sacrifice leisure for speed and speed is the only thing that matters – “Hurry, Hurry, Quick, Faster, Faster, Get it over with! …. Why the rush?

Passenger 2: Don’t get so querulous old man, it’s bad for you.

Burgess: I am not querulous; I’m simply trying to point out the true reason for this disgraceful decision!

Passenger 2: Which is….?

Burgess: A plot, obviously of communistic origin. They’re going to condemn the Lady Anne because she represents a way of life – The Old Way. Because she has grace, manners, tradition, but now they are going to scrap her!

Passenger 3: {irritated} Oh, I say. Somebody turn him off!

Burgess: Nothing is sacred anymore. The beasts are at the gates but we are too old to fight them. So we have to stand around like a lot of pathetic statutes with our metals tarnished, our swords broken, while the Vandals turn our castles into sideshows and stick up nasty little advertisements for soap all along the roadside – and now they are going the scrap Lady Anne.

But I warn you, how are we going to stop them from scrapping the whole world? …

Joe Scarborough in the Arena

Last week on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, I was pleasantly surprised to see Scarborough on the warpath. He had obviously prepared or did some degree of historical research on his April 26th show. Here’s how that show was chronicled by the DailyCaller.com where in the video below Scarborough Compares Trump to Reagan and adds this historical caveat: ‘Elites Never Saw It Coming’.

morn_joe

During Tuesday’s edition of “Morning Joe,” Scarborough said that while the “elites” binge watch HBO, “working class white America” watched Trump on “The Apprentice.” “Charles Murray wrote this book called ‘Coming Apart’ talking about the decline of white America from 1960 until I think 2012.” Co-host Mika Brzezinski commented, “Okay, good. This is important.”

Scarborough said that Murray “talked about the massive separation between elites and working class white America. And one of his points was that working class white America watches an average of 35 to 40 hours a week of TV.” “You know what elites do? Elites go and they binge watch like their favorite shows on HBO or something else. These two worlds never meet,” Scarborough said.

So while we were watching, you know, ‘Mad Men,’ and while we were watching ‘House of Cards,’ and while we’re watching ‘Sherlock,’ and while we’re watching all the shows we love to talk about here, they have been inviting Donald Trump into their house every week for 12, 13 years on ‘The Apprentice’ — a remarkable run for a prime time show.”

Trump’s run with “The Apprentice” was “about as remarkable as Ronald Reagan from the mid-50s to the early 1960s doing GE Theater, where over 20 million people every week saw Ronald Reagan coming into their house. Elites never saw it coming because they don’t live where most of America lives.”

Closing Narration—Passage of the Lady Anne

Mysteriously, Tragically, the Lady Anne never reached port. After they were picked up by a cutter a few hours later, as Captain Protheroe had promised, the Ransomes searched the newspapers for news – but there wasn’t any news,” said Twilight Zone creator, Rod Sterling, in his characteristic enigmatic voice. “The Lady Anne with all her crew and all her passengers vanished without a trace. But the Ransomes knew what had happened, they knew that the ship had sailed off to a better port – a place called the Twilight Zone.”

Burgess was right all along but his audience were too old to think anymore, too drunk to understand anymore, too jealous of Burgess’ words and hateful of his prophecy to hear, to listen, to be enlightened anymore – “A plot, obviously of communistic origin. They’re going to condemn the Lady Anne because she represents a way of life – The Old Way,” Burgess said. “Because she has grace, manners, tradition, but now they are going to scrap her.” The Lady Anne represents America and all of her vaunted but impotent Conservative philosophy – Her neglected and deconstructed Judeo-Christian traditions and institutions, gone the Lady Anne she departed through the midst as the Ransomes sat dumbfounded, rocking silently in their lifeboat with that surreal expression on their faces – But who could this be?

Burgess’ only problem was that he was fated with the curse of prophecy – Like the Biblical prophets of antiquity, Prometheus, who sacrificed and suffered so much for mankind stealing fire (euphemistically, Enlightenment) from Mt. Olympus violating Zeus holy decree, and suffering a tortuous end for eternity, yet to this day all of the collected history by the Greeks and Romans in modern times is called “mythology”.

Another example of the curse of prophecy is the Prophetess Cassandra of Greek “Mythology” – a beautiful princess of Troy, cursed by the god Apollo for repelling his amorous advances, yet ‘blessed’ with the gift of prophecy… with a catch – Apollo made sure that no one would ever believe her prophecies though they were all true. When she warned her people of the impending invasion and destruction of Troy by King Agamemnon and his legions numbering 50,000 Athenian soldiers, no one believed Cassandra’s prophecies. They laughed her to scorn and history declares to us that Troy was burned to the ground; erased from history only until relatively recently unearthed by the famous archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann in 1870.
